Description

NOS vintage Swiss ladies’ watch case, round with a flat profile. New Old Stock – unused, directly from old watchmaker or trade stock. These cases have never been worn or fitted with a movement.

The case surface is high-gloss polished. However, minimal imperfections, small surface marks or slight unevenness compared with today’s precision manufacturing standards may be present. This is completely normal and to be expected with authentic vintage material – not a defect.

The press-fit case back bears the engraving: STAINLESS STEEL BACK · SWISS MADE · WATERPROOF · SHOCKPROTECTED as well as a reference number such as 1682, 1797 … or similar. The crystal is a domed acrylic crystal. The push-pull crown (approx. Ø 4.45 mm) is located at 3 o’clock. The case back has a factory-applied protective lacquer – typical of how cases were stored at the time. It can be removed easily by light polishing. Chemical removal may also be possible but has not been tested.

Compatible movements (without date)

Due to the movement diameter of 18.90 mm, a spacer ring is required for all movements listed below. The ETA E61 family is the preferred choice, as it was designed specifically for this diameter range and needs only a minimal ring.

Note: ETA specifies two diameter values. Ø nominal is the official caliber size for movement identification (e.g. 18.20 mm = “8¼”’ family”). Ø real is the actual physical outside diameter of the movement – this value is used to calculate the required wall thickness of the spacer ring.
