The two available Swiss Super-LumiNova® BG W9 qualities are:

• Grade A (that’s what you will get)
• standard quality

all Superluminova pigments are non radioactive

It is based on a non-radioactive and non-toxic formula consisting of strontium aluminate.

Some useful information from the producer:

If sufficient activation by UV- or sunlight has occurred, Superluminova BGW9 Grade A shows a 8% higher performance after 10 minutes compared to BG W9 standard quality.

After 600 minutes, the performance is even 52% higher than BG W9 standard quality.

If sufficient activation by UV- or sunlight has occurred, standard quality BG W9 shows a 262% higher luminous performance after 10 minutes compared to GL C1 standard quality. After 600 minutes, the performance is still 189% higher than the GL C1 standard quality.

The values are only calculated indications and can vary due to your specific application.

Swiss Super-LumiNova® is non-radioactive, REACH compatible, highly temperature resistant and resistant to environmental influences.

It works like a light storage battery, which can be charged unlimited times without any loss of performance over decades.

It is chargeable with sunlight or artificial light. Mixed with a suitable specific binder, Swiss Super-LumiNova® is applied on dials and hands.

With full sized marks, a full night legibility can be achieved according to ISO 3157.

The human eye has the highest sensitivity to the green emission, when coming directly from sunlight into the dark (photopic vision).

After adaption to darkness, the human eye is changing to scotopic vision with higher sensitivity but no color perception.

In such situations, the blue emission is better visible by the human eye.

1:1 ratio pigment and binder is good for easy application, to get a paste instead and brightest result try 1,5:1 pigment and binder.

Do not use the thinner at the beginning. It should only be used when the mixture begins to dry.
