Swiss Super-LumiNova BGW9 Grade A Luminous Pigment with Clear Lacquer and Thinner

Swiss Super-LumiNova BGW9 Grade A luminous pigment for dials and hands, white in light, blue in the dark. Optional clear lacquer A60 and thinner A61.

Scope of delivery depending on your choice:

1) 1 gram Swiss Super-LumiNova® BGW9 Grade A

2) 1 gram Swiss Super-LumiNova® BGW9 Grade A + 1 gram clear lacquer A60 + 1 gram thinner A61

3) 1 gram Swiss Super-LumiNova® BGW9 Grade A + 3 grams clear lacquer A60 + 3 grams thinner A61

4) 1 gram Swiss Super-LumiNova® BGW9 Grade A + 3 grams clear lacquer A60 + 3 grams thinner A61 + set of 3 oilers + 1x oil cup with 3 wells

Super-LumiNova pigments are completely free of radioactive additives and are pure phosphorescent luminous materials based on alkaline earth aluminate.

They can be charged any number of times and release the stored light again in the dark.

Some useful information from the manufacturer:

The human eye has the highest sensitivity to the green afterglow, i.e. when you come directly from daylight into a dark room (photopic vision).

As soon as the eye has adapted to the darkness, it switches to scotopic vision.

The result is a higher sensitivity to light with reduced color perception. In such situations, the blue emission is more visible to the human eye.

The consequence of this behavior is that the optimal coating is GL for short-term legibility and BL for long-term legibility.

If sufficient activation by UV light or sunlight has occurred, Grade A BG W9 shows an 8% higher performance

after 10 minutes compared to BG W9 standard quality.

After 600 minutes, the performance is even 52% higher than BG W9 standard quality.

A60 is intended for the following applications:
Hands (general use)
Dots on dials (general use)
Easy application

Technical properties of A60:
Medium drying
Medium viscosity
Medium solids (30%)

Drying: 4-5 h at room temperature
60 min. at 60 °C and 45 min. at 80 °C

The recommended mixing ratio:

for hands: [pigment] 1:1 [binder] – good for easy application

for indexes on dials: [pigment] 1.5:1 [binder] – for a paste-like consistency and the brightest result

Please do not use A61 thinner at the beginning, but only

when the mixture starts to dry. (A60: 10 / A61: 1)
